My Skillset and Experience

Working for an international engineering firm as a Power Platform Developer, I use my problem solving skills to optimise business processes. My role consists of automating manual processes and gathering requirements directly from business units to develop custom Business Apps. Some of which replace existing third-party software to cut costs. Each replacement Power App is designed to closely match the original system’s functionality, UI, and UX.

Tradecraft Overview

  • I’ve delivered production ready Power Automate flows across four organizations, automating everything from email routing with RegEx extraction, to CSV downloads from web portals, legacy system interaction via desktop RPA, document generation, data uploads, approvals and scheduled updates.

    My experience spans both cloud and desktop flows, allowing me to eliminate manual processes with SaaS platforms as well as software that does not offer APIs.

  • I developed a CRM Power App for an Insurance Underwriting firm in the City of London, and was responsible for designing the Azure SQL Server back end database schema for this app. Which consisted of numerous SQL Tables, Views and Stored procedures.

    My SQL Views, ensured the Power App did not contain any delegation errors. Which would have arisen when displaying specific values requested by the firm, such as the number of their clients that had a turnover of £1M with whom they had not communicated with in over 6 months.

    Each booking created within my CRM App, collected total costs, and was sent for approval.

  • In addition to being an experienced Power Platform Developer, I am also proficient in traditional programming, with professional experience, certifications, and personal projects completed in React.js, PyTorch, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • My experience working with a wide range of data sources and relational databases stems from my background as a Data Analyst and Database Developer, where I also provided IT support.

I regularly develop Power Apps with advanced functionality such as:

  • Sending HTTP POST requests and integrating with external APIs

  • Working with JSON data structures

  • Capturing images via mobile or tablet and embedding them into Word documents

  • Copying and pasting tabular data directly into the app for bulk updates

  • Performing dynamic calculations and reporting

  • Managing approval workflows

  • Implementing barcode scanning to track goods

  • Integrating across multiple systems and databases

  • Linking to Azure AI Resources such as Azure OpenAI or Azure Doc Intelligence.
